On Tuesday, February 25th, NINA's Security Lockers were installed at the Durango Transit Center. The lockers were designed to serve a real need we discovered from Durango's unhoused community: A safe place to store one's belongings, especially for those employed, is a must.
That Friday, the city held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the lockers. It was a wonderful day, great to see all the efforts come to fruition, yet the real success lies in the lockers providing a safe, dry place for a few neighbors to keep their belongings. Thank you to everyone involved in making the Security Lockers a reality!
